The month of March was a busy month for the school on the sports side. Our rugby, netball and hockey players took part in many fixtures with different schools.
The school celebrated its Founders’ Day on 2 March 2024. We had winter fixtures against Richards Bay Hoerskool. The day was busy and all staff were involved in making the day a success. The school had mixed results throughout the day. Our hockey teams drew both their games and our 1st team rugby played in the main game late in the afternoon and won 10-8 against a physically bigger Hoerskool side. The victory was the fourth in the schools 40-year history.
On 9 March our teams went to play Pongola Academy.
Up next was the Eshowe High School Winter Sports Festival on 16 March 2024. Our school did well as three out of our four teams came in 3rd place in their respective sports.
On 28 March till 1 April 2024 our 1stxv rugby side participated in the Uhuru Easter Rugby Tournament which took place in Amanzimtoti in the south of Durban. Our team won all their three games. They beat Howick High School 19-10 in the unofficial final of the tournament. The school would like to thank all those sports coaches and teaching staff who assist on the days of these fixtures. The sports team would also like to thank Miss King and her management team for their continuous support.
